Our Rosehip Oil

Rosehip Oil is renowned for its rich blend of active ingredients that promote anti-aging and stimulates the skin.

Vitamin C (a relative tissue repair), Vitamin A (a basic ingredient in most skin care products), Lycopene and beta-carotene (an antioxidant), essential fatty acids, including oleic acid (Omega 9), linoleic acid (Omega 6), and α-linolenic acid (Omega 3).

This unique combination not only provides essential nutrients but also delivers deep moisturizing and protective benefits, making it a popular ingredient in cosmetics, as well as hair, nail, and body care products.

The oil’s lightweight, thin consistency allows it to absorb quickly into the skin without leaving any greasy residue, making it an ideal choice for those seeking effective hydration and nourishment without a heavy feel.

Refined Conventional Rosehip Oil

Conventional Rosehip Oil is put through a number of processes which decolourises and deodorisers the oil.

The natural orange colour of the oil is reduced to a light yellow and the fragrance and flavours are also minimised. This formula allows our convetional refined Rosehip Oil to be used as a carrier oil, as it will not affect the colour, fragrance or flavour of the products end composition.

Cold Pressed Organic Rosehip Oil

Oil Extraction – Cold Pressed

There are two different methods of extracting oil from the Rosehip Seed , (1) Cold Pressed and (2) Hot pressed, each with its advantages and disadvantages.

Removing oil from seed by a low heat extraction is called ‘cold pressed”, which is what we at R0sehip Farm use.

This process is based on the pressure on the seed with little to no heat added. Cold presses are generally mechanical and often consists of a screw device, which is pressed against the Rosehip Seed to extract the oils. This method produces a lower yeild but a higher quality oil.

Cold pressed oil is controlled in various parts of the world. In Europe the label has to be certified for cold pressing and process oil production. This certification means that oil production never exceeds a certain temperature.

Generally, the temperature rises below 100 ° F. The United States does not regulate oil production processes, users should perform their own tests to determine whether the oil is up to standard.
