Empowering Communities Through Nature
In 2016, a simple discovery changed everything. When our founder, Wynand Gericke, first encountered the wild rosehip growing across rural South Africa, he saw more than a plant — he saw possibility.
Many communities lived in deep poverty, surrounded by natural resources that held real value. By providing training in sustainable wild harvesting, Rosehip Farm created a way for families to earn an income with dignity. Wynand made a promise that still guides us today:
“Harvest all the rosehips you can — Rosehip Farm will buy it from you.”
Creating Year-Round Opportunity
Rosehip season lasts only a few months, so we expanded our mission. Through research and community collaboration, we identified other indigenous plants that could be harvested ethically and sustainably throughout the year:
- Helichrysum Odoratissimum
- Pelargonium Sidoides
- Artemisia Afra
- Felicia Filifolia
This approach transformed a short, seasonal income into a year-round livelihood for families across South Africa.
Today: Over 50 Communities Strong
We now partner with more than 50 rural villages, offering training, support, and guaranteed market access. Every harvest, every collection, every partnership restores dignity, uplifts families, and strengthens entire communities.
This is Rosehip Farm
Rooted in nature. Driven by purpose. Inspired by people.
Our Vision
Our vision is rooted in community development, social upliftment, and economic empowerment.
We are committed to improving the lives of rural communities across South Africa and Lesotho by unlocking the value of their natural resources and diversifying their socio-economic opportunities.
Through training, mentoring, and ongoing support, communities are equipped to harvest high-quality, Organic Certified raw materials. These materials enter our processing facility, where they are transformed into consistent, premium-grade products supplied to markets across Europe, the USA, Asia, Australia, and Africa.
